Affordable Housing Initiatives

With urban populations expanding in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Mwanza, and Mbeya, the demand for affordable housing has reached record levels. The government and private sector are investing heavily in low-cost housing projects to serve lower and middle-income families.

These projects focus on:

• Compact, efficient home designs

• Fast and modular construction techniques

• Public-private partnerships (PPPs) for financing

The National Housing Corporation (NHC) and Tanzania Building Agency (TBA) are also pushing forward major housing projects, targeting civil servants and middle-income earners.
